Moving Forward…

“We emerged from the Thai Jungle relaxed and excited about the new friendships made at The Karen Hill Tribe Lodge. After traveling by car, plane, and 4 x 4 for over 5 hours, we ¬†arrived to a quaint village of 70 people. This lodge is run by the village along with an elephant camp and a community tourism program. The view from the lodge is serene, peaceful, and incredible. Rice paddies, jungle, mountains, and gibbons make up the backdrop. ¬†We inspected the hotel, visited the local school, made a stop at a Royal Project Coffee Plantation, rode an elephant through the jungle, and spent time with the local village. The teenage girls were so intrigued by their computers, cameras, and ipods. We spent hours looking at Kelly’s pictures from Africa, Middle East, and Latin America. They especially loved “Photo Booth” on Karrah’s Mac – such a great app! This will definitely be a stop on TVE’s itineraries going forward. There is no better way to uplift a community than to bring business to them. Today we are with The Buddy Group in Bangkok inspecting hotels and restaurants near the infamous Khao San Road!”
