Itinerary

Oct 7 – Arrive to Cairo International Airport and transfer to hotel with Village Experience Representative. Welcome dinner in the evening. (D)

Oct 8 – Travel to Giza in the morning to visit the infamous Pyramids and Sphinx. Great photo opportunities abound at these ancient sights. We will then journey into the Khan El Khalili bazaar to learn about Islamic Cairo, explore the market, eat lunch at one of the oldest restaurants in Cairo, and enjoy people watching at a local coffee shop. Return to hotel for overnight. (B,L)

Oct 9 – Morning flight to Luxor. Check into Nile River Cruise. Begin by venturing over to the local market for Egyptian snacks, spice demonstration, and shopping. Return to ship for rest and lunch. In the late afternoon, we will visit the Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. The Luxor Temple is one of the most impressive temples we will see on our tour located directly in the heart of the city and constructed in 1400 BC. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight. Oct 10 -This morning we will journey to the magical Valley of the Kings and visit the tombs of famous pharaohs, including King Tut. We will then visit Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple before returning to the ship. Enjoy lunch on board as we set sail for Edfu. (B,L,D)

Oct 11 – Embark on a tour of the Temple of Edfu in the morning via horse and carriage. This temple sits on the West Bank of the Nile River and was built between 237 BC and 57 BC into the reign of Cleopatra VII. Return to the ship for lunch as we sail to Kom Ombo. Enjoy a tour of the Temple of Kom Ombo upon arrival – this fascinating temple is dedicated to the crocodile God, Sobek and the falcon-headed God, Horus. Return to the ship for dinner as we begin the sail to Aswan. (B,L,D)

Oct 12 – This morning we will tour the local Nubian Village to see the traditional way of life for those living in Aswan. We will then visit the temple at Philae. Enjoy a tour of the Spice Market and Coffee Shops of Aswan in the afternoon and stop for lunch. Shop the local handicrafts in the market. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

Oct 13 – Check out of Nile Cruise and check into hotel in Aswan on the banks of the Nile River. Relax today with the most amazing scenery surrounding you. Sunset Feluca Cruise in the evening. Return to hotel. (B)

Oct 14 – Morning flight to Cairo. Check into hotel and rest. We will then visit the world famous Egyptian Museum in the afternoon. Visit the King Tut and Royal Mummies exhibits and meander through floor after floor of ancient treasures…some dating back as far as 4,000 year ago. Farewell dinner in the evening. (B,D)

Oct 15 – Late check out from hotel. Transfers throughout the day to the airport for international flights home. (B)

Visit the Center for Disease Control website for up-to-date requirements (www.cdc.gov) and/or speak with a local travel doctor regarding vaccinations. We also advise that you speak with your doctor regarding a prescription for an antibiotic to combat food and water borne illnesses.
