Itinerary

Oct 7 – Arrive to Cairo International Airport and transfer to hotel with Village Experience Representative. Welcome dinner in the evening. (D)

Oct 8 – Travel to Giza in the morning to visit the infamous Pyramids and Sphinx. Great photo opportunities abound at these historical sights. Break for a local lunch. Return to hotel for afternoon rest. This evening, we journey into the Khan El Khalili bazaar to explore the market, eat at one of the oldest restaurants in Cairo, and enjoy people watching at a local coffee shop. Return to hotel for overnight. (B,L,D)

Oct 9 – Enjoy a free day in Cairo to continue exploring the city, spend time shopping the markets, visit the National Museum, or take a felucca ride on the Nile River. The day is yours to spend exactly as you like. Village Experience representative will be on hand to help you plan the perfect day in Cairo. (B)

Oct 10 – Morning flight to Aswan. Check into Nile River Cruise in time for lunch. Enjoy a tour of the Spice Market and Coffee Shops of Aswan in the afternoon. Shop the local handicrafts in the market. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

Oct 11 – This morning we will tour the local Nubian Village before beginning our sail to Kom Ombo. Enjoy a tour of the Temple of Kom Ombo upon arrival – this fascinating temple is dedicated to the crocodile God, Sobek and the falcon-headed God, Horus. Dinner will be on the cruise as we set sail for Edfu City.

Oct 12 – Embark on a tour of the Temple of Edfu in the morning via horse and carriage. This temple sits on the West Bank of the Nile River and was built between 237 BC and 57 BC into the reign of Cleopatra VII. In the evening, we will set sail to Luxor. (B,L,D)

Oct 13 – Check out of the cruise in the town of Luxor. Begin the day with a tour of the Valley of the Kings where over 60 tombs of ancient Pharaohs and powerful nobles have been discovered. Following this visit, we will check into our hotel in Luxor and rest. In the evening, we will tour the Luxor Temple and eat a local dinner in the market. The Luxor Temple is one of the most impressive temples we will see on our tour located directly in the heart of the city and constructed in 1400 BC. Return to hotel for overnight. (B)

Oct 14 – Free day to continue exploring Luxor’s ancient sights, browse the markets, relax by the Nile River, or visit local artisan shops. Farewell dinner in the evening. (B,D)

Oct 15 – Morning flight to Cairo to catch connecting flights back home. (B)

Visit the Center for Disease Control website for up-to-date requirements (www.cdc.gov) and/or speak with a local travel doctor regarding vaccinations. We also advise that you speak with your doctor regarding a prescription for an antibiotic to combat food and water borne illnesses.
