Who we are
Girls LOVE Travel® (GLT) was founded by Haley Woods on December 30, 2015. GLT is an organization of nearly 200k active and aspiring travel-loving international females, and it all started with a Facebook group! GLT is based on the three pillars of safety, socializing, and support for the female traveler. Join us on Facebook and be prepared for your bucket list to grow!

The GLT Handsign
The handsign helps you identify other GLT travelers & our members love to show it while taking pictures around the world! It has a double meaning in American Sign Language- it means “I Love You”, but also if you turn it sideways and wave it, it means “airplane”!

Oct 24 – Arrive to Kolkata International Airport. Girls Love Travel & The Village Experience representatives will meet you and transfer you to the hotel upon arrival.
Oct 25– Enjoy a cultural and historical tour of Kolkata today. We’ll start bright and early at the Flower Market on the banks of the Ganges River – a photographer’s dream! Then we’ll proceed to visit local temples and try some amazing Bengali food. Following the tour, spend some time in the New Market area haggling and finding treasures to take home. Stock up on beautiful, colorful, and affordable clothing to wear throughout the trip. Return to hotel in the evening. (B)
Oct 26 – Today we will spend time with our partners working to end human-trafficking in India. We will visit Nijuloy House run by Women’s Interlink Foundation to spend time with the rescued girls, contribute to their income-generating activities, and learn all about fair trade. You’ll meet the artisans producing the “Keys to Freedom” line for Top Shop in London, block print your own scarf, shop their stunning handmade items, and learn how to grind exotic spices. Our lunch will be prepared by the cooking and bakery unit at the home – this is some of the best food on the trip! Return to hotel after a full day with the girls. (B,L)
Oct 27– We will drive to the rural village of Bolpur in the morning and check into the Women’s Interlink Foundation Community Based Tourism Hotel and Artisan Development Center. The Village Experience is proud to have built this hotel and development center in support of keeping jobs in the local community and preventing young girls from entering the prostitution rings in the big cities. We’ll enjoy our meals and local entertainment in the evening at the Women’s Interlink Foundation Community Center. (B, L, D)
Oct 28 – In the morning, we will board tuk-tuks and embark on a tour of the surrounding villages. Visit local artisan workshops to see examples of the world famous Indian handicrafts – everything from woodwork and pottery to leather work and traditional weaving. We’ll then learn all about traditional henna practice and spend time getting our favorite designs. After lunch, we’ll head over to the famous Saturday Artisan Market of Bolpur to interact and shop from artisans representing handicrafts from all over the region. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Oct 29 – Check out after breakfast, depart Bolpur, and transfer to Kolkata. Evening free for Girls Love Travel Meet Up. (B)
Oct 30 –Catch a morning flight to Delhi. Transfer via road to Agra and check into hotel. Relax and turn in early in anticipation of tomorrow’s events! (B)
Oct 31 – Morning sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal – one of the Seven Wonders of the World! Explore, meditate, photograph, and simply take in these majestic surroundings. Following your time at the Taj Mahal, enjoy a tour of the expansive and impressive Agra Fort. Break for lunch and coffee at Sheroes Hangout Café. This café is an income-generating project for victims of acid attacks. Continue on to Delhi and check into hotel. (B)
Nov 1 –Enjoy a tour of Old Town Delhi today including a rickshaw ride and stop at the famous Spice Market. Break for lunch and shopping time. Rest at the hotel in the afternoon. Evening free for Girls Love Travel Meet Up. (B)
Nov 2 – Transfers to the airport throughout the day. (B)
