Itinerary

February 7 – Arrive to Cairo International Airport. Meet your Village Experience Representative and transfer to hotel in Giza.

February 8 – Meet your Egyptologist at the hotel. Morning visit to the famous Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Optional camel ride available. Spend the afternoon exploring Egyptian history and culture in the area. (B)

February 9 – Transfer to the airport in the morning and board flights to Aswan. Check into Nile Cruise Ship. Afternoon visit to the Philae Temple. Sunset Felucca trip on the Nile River. (B,L,D)

February 10 – This morning we sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Sobeck. Return to the ship for lunch and continue sailing to Edfu. Upon arrival to Edfu, we will board horse and carriages and travel to the Temple of Horus. Return to the boat and enjoy a relaxing sail throughout the evening until we reach Luxor in the evening via the Esna Lock. Dinner and drinks aboard the boat. (B,L,D)

February 11 – Today we travel to the Valley of the Kings! Explore ancient burial sites of past pharaohs including King Tutankhamun. Continue the journey with a visit to Queen Hatshepsut ‘s Temple. Return to the boat for a relaxing afternoon and evening. (B,L,D)

February 12 – Check out of boat in the morning and check into hotel in Luxor. Begin the day with a tour of The Karnak Temple. Proceed to Luxor market for shopping and free time for lunch. Sunset tour of the Luxor Temple in the evening. (B)

February 13 – Free morning to explore on your own. Visit local spice shops, perfume makers, and more. Afternoon flights to Cairo. Check into hotel. (B)

February 14 – Morning visit to the Egyptian Museum – one of the highlights of the trip! Proceed to the Khan-il-Khalili Bazaar for lunch and shopping. This ancient market is one of the largest in the world – one can spend hours upon hours here. Return to hotel for overnight. (B,L)

February 15 – Official end of tour. Transfers to the airport throughout the day. (B)

Vaccinations

Visit the Center for Disease Control website for up-to-date requirements (www.cdc.gov) and/or speak with a local travel doctor regarding vaccinations. We also advise that you speak with your doctor regarding a prescription for an antibiotic to combat food and water borne illnesses.

Required Documents:

  1. Passport
  2. Visa – U.S. citizens can obtain a renewable single-entry 30-day tourist visa on arrival.
  3. Travel insurance – Medical evacuation and repatriation insurance is required. Trip coverage (cancellation, interruption, etc.) is highly recommended.
