August 6 – Arrive to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to hotel for overnight.
August 7 – Morning drive to Laikipia to begin your retreat at the luxurious and ecofriendly MaKena Hill’s Tented Camp nestled in the highlands of the Great Rift Valley inside the Mukutan Conservancy. This conservancy is run by Kuki Gallman and her daughter Sveva – their story is told in the movie “I dreamed of Africa.” They work endlessly to battle poaching, promote education, and conserve their surrounding environment. It will be a real treat to be in the presence of true conservationist while learning about the African landscape and practicing yoga against a most breath-taking backdrop. All meals will be included during our stay. (B,D)
August 8-10 – Enjoy twice daily yoga with Christine Lewis at the Yoga Shala. Activities throughout the day will include game drives, guided walking tours throughout the nature conservancy, picnics in the park while awaiting local wildlife, and meeting with the local community. (B,L,D)
August 11 – Morning drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Dinner and overnight. (B,D)
August 12 – All day safari in Lake Nakuru National Park to spot the large population of rhinos, lion, buffalo, giraffe, and flamingos. All meals provided at the lodge. (B,L,D)
August 13 – Morning drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve to witness the Great Migration. Go in search of Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, and Rhino while observing the migration of millions of Wildebeest from the Serengeti to the plains of the Masai Mara. Check into safari camp. All meals provided at camp. (B,L,D)
August 14-15 – All day game drives to take in the beauty of the Great Migration. Evening yoga session. (B,L,D)
August 16 – Drive back to Nairobi and transfer to international flights home in the evening or join Christine in Lamu for a relaxing week of yoga and beach! (B)
