Guatemala Update: Coffee, Open Windows, and Cafe Sky!

Yesterday the group visited La Azotea Cultural Center for a tour and coffee tasting. Did you know Antigua coffee ranks in the top 5 in the world? From there we proceeded to an authentic Guatemalan lunch and then into the market to pick up nutritional snacks for the kids at Open Windows.  We met Laura and Teresa for an introduction and tour of Open Windows and then the group settled into their volunteer activities. We tutored the kids on math, practiced reading Spanish and English books with them, and assisted in the computer class.

After the activities came to a close, we enjoyed a nutritious snack with the over 100 children. The center is not able to provide snacks unless a donor visits to provide this. As the sun set, we found our way to the top of Cafe Sky to the rooftop restaurant for dinner and some great conversation. Off to Chichicastenango today!
