Kelly and Karrah’s Jungle Adventure!
First of all, thanks to everyone to came to see us at Penrod this weekend! Despite the rain, we had a wonderful time sharing our story and fair trade products with the community. Now, on to the next live blog posts from Kelly and Karrah, who spent the last two days working (and playing!) extra hard in Thailand.
Saturday: “Today, we embarked on a jungle adventure at Tree Tops Adventure Park. We zip-lined through the forest, walked the tight rope, rode the tarzan swing, and got bit like crazy by Thai mosquitoes! After lunch, we went with the post tour group to a lunch of crab served about 10 different ways. From there it was straight to Oasis World to watch the pink dolphins that were rescued from fishing nets…what a treat! We site inspected another hotel in Chantabari Province and then met with over 20 tourism reps from the area. Another long, but productive day for our dynamic duo.”
Friday: “Today started at 4am. After a bus ride, a flight, a ferry, and a car ride, we arrived in Trat Province in Eastern Thailand. We spent the day visiting community tourism and handicraft centers on the island of Koh Chang and then site inspected three new hotels. Lunch was a wonderful seafood buffet of scallops, calamari, fish, shrimp, and crab prepared by the local village. We ended the day meeting with over 30 representatives from the tourism industry in the East, sharing an indian meal, and watching a fire show on the beach. And now its time to collapse!”
